How Apple taught me the SIMPLEST way to fill your music school with dream students.
If you know me, you know I’m an Apple nerd. Call me a sucker, but I literally have every Apple product known to man: iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro, AirPods Pro, Apple Watch, Apple TV, Apple Card...the list goes on.
Ok...enough of me flexing ๐ช๐ค The point is, even if there was an Apple cup holder, I’d still pay top dollar to get my hands on one.
Why? ๐ Because that’s my perception of them. That’s how they’ve positioned themselves in the market, and I’m ok with paying that much.
The problem in the music lesson industry is… there are too many of the same teachers in the world. Like every industry Apple jumps into, ours is heavily saturated.
I hear too many: โ “I teach students of all ages and skill levels!”
โ “We have the best lessons!”
โ “We’re the cheapest in the area!”
If you’re still saying that right now... Congrats! You’re just like MY traditional piano teacher from 15 years ago.
After grinding for 5 years, you can say you make over $5K/month, but it can only get you so far. ๐ฆ How much more can you tolerate the crickets after you tell them your prices?
I’m not saying I want less teachers, but I want you to charge high prices without feeling invisible in a sea of music teachers. Just like Apple, we need to position ourselves differently in the market.
๐ก Not like the same music teacher they tried before, but as that new opportunity they haven’t found yet.
There are as many students that WANT private lessons as there are that NEED group lessons. When you follow the Lifestyle Music School model, you become instantly different.
By giving students the chance to experience all types of learning, they discover HOW to learn, rather than WHAT. You’ll find those GROWTH moments in your teaching career.
(I know, 5+ years down and you thought you finally got the hang of it.)
Don’t be a traditional teacher. Be an irresistible music teacher.
